I'll admit, I'm not much of a fan of petsites, I lose interest in committing to repetitive actions for little reward while essentially doing chores for static JPEGS of animals, however there is one that I have actually been enamored with playing for upwards of 6 years now is called Flight Rising, where you can raise, breed, dress, and throw dragons into a coliseum. Despite how par for the course it sounds for a site like this I can assure you it is a lot more... Actually, I'm not here to give an entire overview of this site, I'm here to yap about its yearly event and the inability to dress a subset of dragons on the site. Unfortunately I cannot place images on this post because they keep breaking when I place them in... SO I've placed links throughout to show off what on earth I am speaking about
Night of the Nocturne was first released along with the Nocturne breed, which are these beautifully batty looking dragons; with this event, everyone and their mother (including mine) hop on daily to pet every single familiar and dredge through the coliseum they own in hopes of getting chests full of delightfully spooky goodies such as haunted mimics and haunting apparel!
I am simply not good at the coliseum, and when I see people with entire guides full of complex mathematical calculations and keybinds and wrist stretches and it confounds me just how in-depth it all is when the most I do is scratch and slash at any monster I see first.
Ancient Breeds are a part of the site that feels very new, most likely due to them releasing a new Ancient just this year, but they've been part of the site since 2020 with the release of the Gaolers (I know their name is pronounced Jailers but c'mon... Gae-lore sounds cooler). Each breed comes with their own specific well-thought-out lore and backstories... None of which I've read with the exception of the Banescales and the haunting notes of their song being the first hint of their release on the site.
My topic of conflict with these Ancient Breeds (Aside from a few of them looking over-designed and cluttered with their genes) is that I cannot dress them, an ability which is one of the largest draws to the site for me. I understand creating an entirely new index and figuring outfits that would even be able to be worn by every ancient breed with their incredibly varied features and limbs would be a nightmare but there has also been apparel that doesn't conflict with Modern Breeds outlines, such as the halos, elemental emblems and flower petal rainfalls. IDK... I just wanna put a hat on my Mr. Lunt dragon, he deserves it... As a treat.
oh ok this image didnt break yay!

Night of the Nocturne and Why Flight Rising won't let me dress Ancient Breeds
Ohuhu's Maui Series Double Tipped Journal Brush Pens (and a mouthful to say)
Welcome back!!! I had put off writing this entry due to being smited by a wizard and the clutches of the Winter Holiday Blues but now that there is a of brevity of calm between Christmas and New Years I have sparks of energy to spend on this again, splendid day! My cuticles can rest easy knowing that as I use these markers to the bone the tightness of the box and the edges of the cardboard separators will no longer dig into my flesh.

THE Staedtler Pigment Brush Pen
It all began in an A.C.Moore store back in middle school when I first laid eyes upon a pack of Triplus Fineliners from the brand Staedtler, they worked like a dream and I've been using them ever since...
This post isn't about those; this post is about the Pigment Brush Pens that were released last year. I had received two packs of these pens (Though they are definitely more like markers) in the Pastel and Nature themes as they and Basic were the only ones available at the time. Through rigorous coloring and numerous meltdown-fueled artwork they hold up fantastic despite worn tips and absolute draining of their ink barrels onto the page.
Most people compliment their "light fastness" or blending with each other and watercolor paints in these professional looking environments... I am not a professional, I draw vegetables and dragons and I have an absolute blast doing it. These brushes go surprisingly well overtop the lines of Fantasia Colored Pencils (The regular kind, the watercolor pencil sets get really finicky.) I absolutely adore these brushes and use them every day.
The barrel of the brush also has a nice texture, pleasant to scratch my fingertips against, I presume they use a specific mold for these or a 3d printer for them.
See I told you this paper would make a comeback, dear sweet Elliot made a perfect example for these brush pens, even if one of them was on the brink of death!
The Accursed Canon Pixma TS3722
I know I had written that I was going to start with pen and markers however this recent experience has set me on a new path for this entry.
I've dealt with older printers my whole life, ones with wires and heavy tops and easily breakable scanners and such; and they always came with a manual that had most every nuisance that you'd have to deal with when working a printer written down in them. When my family's beloathed Epson kicked the bucket we figured a new printer would be a welcome replacement... We were wrong, and it all began with a slip of paper in the place of a manual that told me "Download our app and we'll give you the instructions there!". I detest having to download apps for machines that can be operated very simply by cables, and even moreso when I have to agree to redundant clauses and long-winded terms that the printer would essentially stalk whatever I would print or scan along with sending me notifications for.. Whatever the hell advertisement Canon wants to shove into my Email (Or text messages I assume.) My only positive experience with this laboratory animal of plastic and metal is that replacing the ink cartridges had been exceedingly simple, and it had printed clearly. Aside from that, it was a nightmare to set up, a nightmare to figure out how it worked, and a nightmare to be sitting at the foot of my desk.
Here is a visual of how my escapades with this wretched thing had gone:
New Purpose
Since I'm temporarily giving up my search for the third season's english audio for Oscar's Orchestra, I've decided to keep this blog as a sort of "Show off the art supplies I've gathered over the years" or a "Unhinged rambling about whatever my mind has set its intense focus on" type blog. I'll still look for any remnant of that third season, but for now... This is what I'm planning (In no particular order)
1. Review of the Ohuhu Maui Series Journal Dual Brush Pens (I had been given a 120 pack for my birthday by a dear dear friend
2. Review of the Staedtler Triplus Fineliners (I've been using these since my school days, unbearably sturdy even when bent in the grip of an absolutely distress stricken person)
3. Review of the Staedtler Pigment Brush Pens (I started using these only in the last year, they're super durable and long-lasting, and they work absolutely fantastic with Fantasia Colored Pencils!; The regular kind, the watercolor kind can be... Iffy with them)
4. Sakura Pigma Micron Pens (.005 - .08 and Graphic Pen) (These things can draw the same thing for over 2 years and not run out of ink, though the tips of the .005 and .01 do get pushed in quite easily. My favorites the .05)
5. The oddly connected timelines in the Veggietales Classic Universe (WGWIS to BATB) and how the Pirates Who Don't Do Anything we're stuck in Jonah's time for weeks before he showed up (Including Jonah's reincarnation into Twippo to atone for his sins of Wrath and Pride & Khalil's horrific immortality and hatred of the Irish)
This is just a few of the posts i'm planning on making in the future, there might be photos included if I figure out how to do that again.
